Born on June 30, 1914, Allan C. Haozous, who grew up on a small farm in Oklahoma, the son of a recently liberated family of Chiricahua Apaches, was to become known as Allan Houser, one of the 20th Century’s most important artists.
As a leading modern artist, Allan HouserÕs work has been sought after and acquired by public collections around the world.
He had nearly 50 solo exhibitions in museums and galleries in the United States, Europe, and Asia, and he continued working tirelessly until his death on August 22, 1994.
This is the first publication devoted to cataloging a selection of the works of Allan Houser in Public Collections.
