Description
Youth supportive independent living programs are designed to support youth who are in transition from living with their families, a foster home, or a residential placement to living independently, with or without on-going supports. These programs provide counselling, support, and other resources to facilitate the development of the skills needed by youth to live independently. A supportive independent placement may include one of the following: a room or an apartment in a facility operated and/or supervised by the program; a room or an apartment not operated or supervised by the programs; or a room and board placement found by the person served.
