This book documents the 2020Laskey Award, a design creativity grant program that perpetuates Professor Emeritus Leslie J. LaskeyÕs singular approach to design education during his thirty-five year tenure at Washington University in St. Louis. For the 2020 Laskey Award, architect and professor Aki Ishida led sophomore architecture students in a weekend charrette. Working in teams, the students designed and fabricated modular concrete blocks that stacked to create walls that modulate light. The Laskey Award has been sponsored since 2008 by Studio L, an organization of former students, friends, and supporters of Leslie Laskey.
