Description
This book concerns the reason there are taboos in the academic world, particularly with regard to religious perspectives in textual studies. The author asserts that two topics in particular have been neglected and shunned as a result of such taboos – the symbolic wealth of the Pied Piper legend in literary and poetic works, particularly in the case of Robert Browning’s’The Pied Piper of Hamelin and the motif of the Wanderer in English and German poetry.
