Sometimes it is just about rebranding, and making use of what you have in front of you to make a few bucks. All the stories in this collection are from earlier Fox Feature titles Ð even the mastheads of the pages have not been changed, because most likely these are interior pages originally printed for the various titles and not used with the covers, or the covers removed on return. The misregistration of many pages suggests to me that some were printed but rejected and set aside, then gathered together later for this special collections, originally titled ALMANAC OF CRIME. There may be variants of ALAMANC OF CRIME as different issues were pulled out of the back room for use.
The original issues used the inside front cover as the first page of the story, so this collection did not contain the title page of the first story, but in three of the four cases we were able to take that page from the original issue and include it here.
