Description
A young boy goes on holiday to Ulster and comes back determined to join the IRA and to drive the British out of Ireland. Hilarious, real stories of a really ludicrous situation.
This book is written with love for the people of Northern Ireland Ða fighting race who never won a battle of their own, but can all tell you what happened on the Boyne in 1690, a race of politicians who cannot govern themselves, a pious race excelling in blasphemy, who sing of love and practice fratricide, who can love you individually but will hate you collectively, who look forward through a rear view mirror and who will never surrender to anybody.
Of course I didnÕt know that when I first visited the farm where I met Bob the Protestant horse and Jim the Catholic horse, They could never work together in harmony. I donÕt think any of the other animals on the farm had a stated religion, though I suppose the ducks might have been Baptists.
