HIGH SCHOOL CHEMISTRY is an outline of notes. It was given to my chemistry students so they could focus on the material being presented and not be burdened by copying charts, writing problems, etc.
Trying to learn chemistry using this book, without the appropriate instruction, would (will) be difficult. It was designed to aid learning and not as a stand-alone tool.
In this [Modified] Second Edition, the page size was reduced from 8.5″ x 11″ to 6″ x 9″, so print will be (is) small.
