Description
The Christmas Snowman Volume 2! Reprinting Frosty the Snowman’s Four Color (1942) issues 748, 861, 950, 1065, 1153, 1272 (Dell)! “Frosty the Snowman” is a popular winter song written by Walter “Jack” Rollins and Steve Nelson, and first recorded by Gene Autry and the Cass County Boys in 1950 and later recorded by Jimmy Durante in that year. It was written after the success of Autry’s recording of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” the previous year. Rollins and Nelson shopped the new song to Autry, who recorded “Frosty” in search of another seasonal hit. There were roughly a dozen Frosty the Snowman issues in DellÕs 1942 Four Color Comic Series in the early 1950Õs. This Volume reprints the final 6 of those issues for the very first time! Enjoy the fun of these Christmas Stories that havenÕt been reprinted in over 60 years! Note: Contrary to what a lot of people think, these comics were NOT based on the Rankin-Bass Frosty the Snowman Television show, as the first special didnÕt air on Television until 1969! Softcover Standard Color!
