The name Premiere Magazines doesn’t immediately pop to mind when we talk about classic comics; they only had 7 titles over a four-year span from 1953-1956, and the longest ran for 11 issues. Still, a publisher is judged on quality, and with MYSTERIOUS STORIES they have cemented their place as a big-time comic force. The series began title HORROR FROM THE TOMB, but took it permanent name with the second issue, and offered top-notch mystery and horror, along with a little bit of parody at the end of every issue. This is the complete collection, where you can find horror by Kurt Schaffenberger, Jack Abel, Hy Fleishman, Dick Giordano, and other memorable name of the era. This has never been in print as a collection; over 60 years it has languished in obscurity Ð how THAT’S horror!
