Description
Could nine college students canoe across the Iron
Curtain in 1964 and return to tell the tale?
The Danube River runs for 1777 miles through more
countries than any other river in the world, and five
of the seven were communist. Nobody had been
allowed to paddle the river since World War II.
A group of friends from Dartmouth CollegeÕs
Ledyard Canoe Club decided to attempt the trip
in an effort to create people to people goodwill.
This book is one tripperÕs story written day by day
on the expedition.
