Description
For over 35 years ELLA CINDERS (1925-1961) was a popular and prolifically-published comic strip, appearing in newspapers across the globe, both daily and Sunday, even being given the honor of a ÒTopperÓ Ð that is, the comic that was placed at the top of the page. The brainchild of Charles Plumb, who ran the strip for over 25 years, his playful bending of the Cinderella story into a modern world and expanding cast of popular character graced not only newspaper, but was the subject of a 1925 movie Ð and he comic appearances were massive. ELLA CINDERS showed up in long-running anthologies such as TIP TOP COMICS, COMICS ON PARADE and had some of her own titles as well. So where is ELLA today? For over 60 years fans and readers have waited for a collection of her stories Ð well, wait no more!!
The ELLA CINDERS comic-book collection is not chronological and is unlikely to be complete for am long time; she appeared in many hard-to-find and expensive comics, and the selection of strips to reprint was not, it seems, logical throughout. Rather than wait for months or years (or decades!) to locate everything to print in order, we’ve decide to bring you what we can, when we can, how we can – – that alone will be an undertaking, an undertaking we are happy to undertake until they call for the undertaker to take us away!
