Empowering Young Mothers Through Independence

Description

This toolkit consists of two programmes; ‘planning to spend’ and ‘exploring volunteering’. Both programmes offer the opportunity for workers to adapt the materials around the specific interests and needs of their group. The programmes either stand alone or can contribute towards the Open College Network programme ‘Young Mothers Learning’. They can also be accredited via the Youth Achievement Awards.
Programme one is based on the needs of young mothers to manage their own finances; live within a budget and plan for the future. Programme two includes understanding volunteering; what volunteers gain; recognising skills and qualities; preparing for interviews and personal action plans.
