One of the best assignments we ever gave our children was to copy George WashingtonÕs Rules of Civility and Behavior by hand on lined paper. Not only did our kids learn manners but also spelling, vocabulary, penmanship and so much more. George Washington wrote these down sometime between the ages of 12 and 14 before he pursued surveying.
