Historic Old South Neighborhood in Massachusetts

Description

“Old South” Mass is set to plainsong tunes taken from the 1940 Hymnal. The poems are by Carole Walker Trickett with music edited and composed by Richard Michael Joseph. The text is partially based upon the fears and concerns of some of the congregants at “Old South” Congregational Church in Farmington, Maine. This setting combines the Ordinary of the Mass with the aforementioned texts, incorporating the stark, austere music of Medieval times with fears and concerns we all have faced in our faith journey.
