Reverend Charles William Isenberg had researched, investigated, compiled and wrote an outstanding Two-Part Volume and Amharic Dictionary in 1841, Rev. C.W. IsenbergÕs work and labour of Christian love, mainly from a missionary perspective is it noteworthy, especially in his Amharic Dictionary, one of the first of its kind, that great attention, diligence and detailed references are made to both the Hebraic and Biblical correlations between the Hebrew, Ethiopic and archaic Amharic Òpure languageÓ (Zephaniah 3:9-10).
