Description
JAMES TYER (1904-1976) was considered one of the most unique, even ÒwildÓ animators of the cartoon era, and in a 46-year career he did animation work for Fleisher, Disney, MGM, Terrytoons, Hanna-Barbara, and even of Fritz the Cat! His poses and lines were outlandish and original, which often proved to make his stints with a studio short-lived, because his work was Òoff standardÓ in an era where there were hard-and-fast style rules. In most biographies of JIM TYER it is noted that he Òalso did some comic book workÓ Ð but while his tenure in the comics was relatively short, his work had the same flair and excitement which made him an animation pioneer.
