Christian and Maria Ursula (Zaggl )Kessler immigrated to America in the late 1880s from Nenzing, a small town in Austria.
Leaving their families and friends behind, they traveled to a new land with a new language, culture, and customs. This research explores what life was like in their homeland and provides biographical sketches of their accomplishments and descendants.
The Kessler-Zaggl family persevered through good and bad times in raising their family once they arrived in the United States. Their religion and first- and second-generation German-speaking residents gave them emotional and community support.
Christian and MariaÕs descendants entered a variety of fields, including education, medicine, dentistry, nursing, retail, engineering, shipping, finance, law enforcement, and employees at large and small corporations. If the family patriarch and matriarch could have seen all that future generations accomplished, they would have been beyond proud.
