Description
Geoffrey Robinson’s account of his maternal relatives’ lives in 19th Century rural Lincolnshire was first published by Constable in 1977 and subsequently serialised for WomanÕs Hour on Radio 4. It was republished 1989 as part of the National Trust Classics series and also released as an unabridged audiobook by Soundings in 1999 Ð and in a large print edition by Isis in July 2000.
This is a revised family edition for Philip Robinson with real names substituted for the fictional ones of the published version. These have been checked against the private family history on which GR first based the original book, and this is the first time the book has been available with the real names of the people and places involved.
