Description
Nila Goes Hunting is a read-to-me coloring book, designed for interaction. The story is appropriate for ages 5 and up; the illustrations are simple and have a purpose. They help children relate to Nila, the main character.
Who is Nila? She is a young female coyote. She has blue eyes, and she carries a small leather pouch around her neck, a gift from her mother. This makes her a little bit different from the rest of her siblings and pack members, and they tease her about it. Her uncle tells her that her blue eyes will make her a bad hunter.
Nila sets out to prove them wrong. She tries to be something she is notÉa wolfÉand in the process she endures some hardships. But in the end it is her own coyote cleverness that turns her story around.
NilaÕs experiences teach us that it is okay to be ourselves and okay to be differentÉthat our own unique gifts are valuable.
