Description
This book has been created by a group of fifteen nurses, participating in Bay Path UniversityÕs pilot RN to BSN program to advance their careers and better their futures. Students were asked to identify a problem they were passionate about, and then offer viable solutions to the problem. Many students identified problems related to their careers in nursing, such as workplace violence against nurses in the emergency room, as well as safe staffing within the hospital setting. Others chose to explore topics that were more personal to them, such as drug addiction, inhuman treatment of animals in a puppy mill, and music as an intervention for ADHD. Within this class, students learned about the power of persuasive writing and how to appeal to a wide audience. All topics are deeply meaningful to each writer and written to raise awareness, spark conversation, and offer compassionate solutions to some of todayÕs societal challenges.
