This is the handbook for the TLM Level 1 and 2 qualifications that count as a single GCSE in the headline points scores in the school league tables. It describes the assessment model and provides an example test, the content syllabus for the test and examples and guidance for assessing coursework. The aim is to use evidence directly arising from day to day use of digital technologies in support of learning rather than artificially contrived practical tasks or simulations. It underpins the GEBOL project. A detailed analysis of how qualifications and certificates are awarded has resulted in cost savings to schools but more importantly, significantly reduced administrative overhead for teachers. The qualifications are suitable for use in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 and enable coverage of the new National Curriculum while ensuring important skills for employment are supported.
