Description
The Reverend Thomas Badcock was for 29 years vicar of Fleckney in Lincolnshire and then for 27 years rector of Walgrave in nearby Northamptonshire. In 1878 Henry Badcock, a son by his first marriage, emigrated to Florida and founded the Badcock Corporation, now a multi-million dollar furniture retailer. In 2019 several USA Badcocks visited England for the 90th birthday of Arthur Carden, a grandson of Thomas’s second marriage. They and a number of English cousins visited Fleckney where a special ‘Badcock Day’ was held.
During this visit Arthur undertook to write a biography of Thomas and this book is the result. The opportunity has been taken to describe the ‘Badcock Day’ mentioned above. This final edition was issued in August 2020.
