Description
It is August 1776. The place is Brooklyn, N.Y. Sarah Cortelyou and her family live on a farm on the Narrows, the river which leads into New York City Harbor. The first major battle of the American Revolution is about to begin as the British stage their ships and forces on Staten Island. General Washington has his troops stationed in Brooklyn and Sarah’s father is part of the Milita which will soon be called up to join with the Continental Army to defend New York. Find out what happens to Sarah, her family and friends during this period.
