Description
This collection of mostly true stories are about people who have inspired, puzzled, or even enraged the author. Tributes to Vietnam Veterans are exactly as told to the author by the men who served. Vignette on the nephew of one of Chicago’s most notorious gangsters are also exactly as told to the author. More challenging passages on race, gender, prejudice, and ignorance are the result of circumstance, perhaps even being at the wrong place at the wrong time, but, they too, are a true and real account of how we treat or mistreat one another based upon loathing and baseless hatred. Often mystifying, it is the job of the writer to tell it like it is, with heart, soul, and a little luck, so as to build value in words, knowing that some words are just hateful, and to be hated by nature. Let’s move into a world of words of hope, and let the words of despair, move us swiftly from rejection to redemption, even if only to restore the often scribbled upon human soul.
