In the late 1940s the newsreels were still a major attraction in theaters across the nation Ð people were hungry for the latest information, locally and across the globe; the world was ever changing, and millions wanted to keep up with it. At the same time, with the War over and superheroes on the wane, comics were looking for legitimacy and public approval. PICTURE NEWS merged these two concepts, bringing new features off the screen in B&W and into the full-color pages of the comics. Science, politics, history, entertainment, popular culture, sport, beauty, and even some gossip and scandal, filled the pages of PICTURE NEWS for ten exciting issues. Though no longer strictly current, they are an amazing picture of the days gone by Ð and as much fun as ever!
