His origins and motivations are unknown, but that matters nothing when Matty Martin (also known as Michael Shayne at times) dons the coat and hat which identifies him as THE RECKONER. Alongside his sidekick Chipper THE RECKONER battles crimes where he finds it, and leaves it destroyed. Their enemies are not your common street thugs, but are monsters of evil, whether man or beast or something beyond. His run in the comics was short (Terrific Comics #5-6, Cat-Man Comics #25, 27-32), but the excitement is high, and it is a universal shame that his stories have never been collected Ð that is, until today! The covers by L.B. Cole and incredible story art by Bob Fujitani ensure that this series will live on for generations!
