Description
The reform and opening-up, which started in 1978, has transformed China’s economy from a rigid and single-plan system to a diversified market system, from rapid development to high-quality development. Entrepreneurs, as the “genes” and “souls” of enterprises, have contributed greatly to the recovery of the Chinese economy and social development. The general public has highly recognized entrepreneurs as the focus of practitioners and theorists for a long time. With the rapid development of science and technology, the business model has changed dramatically, and enterprises’ internal and external environments are complicated and changeable. As the helmsman and final decision-maker of an enterprise, entrepreneurs are crucial to sustainable and healthy development because of their attributes, spirit and mindset. The study of entrepreneurial strategic leadership has been the focus of strategic management research since the 1980s. Researchers have paid extensive attention to the critical impact of entrepreneurial strategic leadership on enterprise performance. However, most studies are based on Western management contexts, and no studies have been conducted on entrepreneurial strategic leadership in China’s unique institutional and cultural contexts.
