The University of Massachusetts Amherst Department of Architecture provides an accessible, intellectually rigorous design education that firmly grounds students in the art and science of the built environment. The interdisciplinary, collaborative program embraces spirited, socially progressive, and environmentally responsible design. As New EnglandÕs first public architecture program, the faculty and students engage the region through integrated teaching, research and outreach.The three semester-long Master of Architecture Thesis Program culminates in a comprehensive published research and design project.
