Description
My Grandfather Samuel Alexander Smith, my mother MyrtleÕs father, committed suicide in the Lower Lot across Bald Hill Road from his home in Ophir, California, by sticking a shotgun into his mouth and blowing his head off, caused by his suffering mightily from the accidental death of his son Claude Smith, killed by a premature fuse lighting of an explosive while working in the Argonaut Mine in Jackson County, California. Claude was blown apart and killed instantly.
SamuelÕs entire progeny including me lived all our lives trying to avoid a similar fate. Many of the family experienced some of these traits, but most, but not all, of us lived as fully and as normally as possible; some experience minor mental maladies but not all to the suicidal extreme.
My wife Valerie and I worked focusedly by traveling the world to avoid GrandpaÕs malady and on staying alive.
So, the potential malady from his suicide is what made us all ÒrunÓ from it all our lives.
