The biannual International Conference Wirtschaftinformatik (Information Systems) has established itself as the most popular Information Systems conference in Europe. The 10th edition of this conference has strived to improve our understanding of the increasing permeation of information technology from a scientific perspective as well as to provide practitioners and academics a platform for the discussion of all topics around this development. The rise of Web 2.0, the social as well as the semantic Web has expanded the traditional focus of IS research. Consequently, we chose the conference motto ÒInformation Systems 2.011Ó to illustrate a new focus for IS research.
