The student writers in this book have something in common, they have each decided to go to college to expand their education. They are leaders and they empower each other. These student writers would like to make a difference by teaching what needs to be learned, and writing what needs to be known. Eating disorders, bullying, child abuse, foster care, cancer, health and food problems, wild animals in captivity, video games and the effects on children, and the impact of media on small children, these are all issues that offer challenges. The student writers present us with facts, as well as important strategies and suggestions to navigate more successfully through these difficult problems. Each student writer selected a topic that they felt passionate about and applied the best elements of her education to offer solutions to society for a better future.
