The Three Musketeers From Meenmore-2: Facsimiles Of Letters From America

This book contains facsimiles of letters sent home by three young emigrants to Pennsylvania in 1853 from Meenmore, Dungloe, Co. Donegal, Ireland. They were John Sweeney, John Boyle, and Patrick Ward, and their mentor was Charles M. Boyle. The first two died early – from consumption and yellow fever. Patrick Ward went on to St Louis University, and was ordained a Jesuit priest – Patrick J. Ward S.J. He served in St Mary’s College, Kansas, St Xavier’s Church, Cincinnati and St Xavier’s Church, St. Louis. The volume “The Three Musketeers from Meenmore-1” contains transcripts of these letters and background information.
